We are now collecting food for Koinonia Food Baskets (for Thanksgiving and Christmas). Any donation you make will be greatly appreciated as without help from you, a family in your community might not be able to enjoy that special holiday meal. A list of the food needed is below and sign-up sheets are in Cokesbury (or if prefer, you can send Suzanne Ackley an email). Donations are due by Sunday, Novembe
r 24 for the Thanksgiving baskets and Sunday, December 15 for the Christmas baskets.
Koinonia Holiday Food Basket Contents – Please note we are providing five (5) baskets for each holiday for a total of ten (10):
$25 Grocery Store Gift Card (if preferred, write a check payable to FUMC, place in envelope marked “Koinonia Gift Baskets” and place in offering plate or mail to FUMC, 6037 Franconia Rd., Alexandria, VA 22310)
2 Cans Each: Green Beans, Peas, Corn
2 Cans of Fruit
2 Cans/Boxes/Packages of Turkey Gravy (No Glass)
1 Box of Stuffing
1 Can of Sweet Potatoes
1 Box of Dessert Mix (Brownies, Cake)
1 Can of Broth
2 Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese
2 Cans of Soup
1 Box of Cheerios or Oatmeal
*please note fresh items such as potatoes will be purchased immediately preceding the distribution of the baskets
