Children’s Discipleship Plan

OVERVIEW

Elements of Jesus’ primary guidance to his disciples, which has come to be known as “The Great Commission,” is found in many scriptures in the Bible, but may best be summarized in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 28: Verses 18-20:

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

So how does one ‘make disciples?’  There are as many different approaches as there are churches, but Franconia United Methodist Church has developed its Adult Discipleship Plan (ADP) to help people who are both new to the faith as well as long-time members continue to grow in their faith and discipleship via a continuum of specific steps to help guide that growth, from individual prayer and worship, to engaging with each other, to serving the broader community around us.

The outline of the ADP is below, and includes numerous initiatives to help one grow as a disciple.  We welcome your review, and if you have any questions, please contact the Discipleship Ministry at gro.cmuainocnarf@pihselpicsid
