Stewardship Study

Stewardship Study

Stewardship Study – An Invitation to Truly Experience that God is Enough – Starting Monday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. on ZOOM

We begin the month of October with a family “meal” – World Communion Sunday!  During the month, we will also reflect on what God has done for us this past year and celebrate God’s provision during this period.  We then look forward to how best we will honor our Methodist vow of using our prayers, gifts, service, and witness in the coming year.  This is a time to make a personal commitment to Stewardship.

This year’s Stewardship study will be based on Adam Hamilton’s book, “Enough (revised edition): Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity.”  According to the author, “… [the study] was about helping people to experience the life God wanted them to live and to have the kind of relationship with their money that God wanted them to have. And as they did, they simplified their lives and found greater joy.”

Everyone (really, everyone!) is encouraged to join this congregation-wide study.  This year we are doing the Stewardship study a little differently and here are the details:

Who: Everyone!
When:  Monday nights between 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Duration: October 16 to November 6
How:  Zoom (the link will be on the church calendar)
Class Leader:  Pastor Melissa

Be sure to get a copy of the book before October 16 and be sure to get the revised edition.  You can obtain the book at Cokesbury.com or Amazon.com.  If you need assistance getting the book, please contact Pastor Melissa or send an email to Discipleship@FranconiaUMC.org

Financial stewardship is an important part of discipleship.  It is reflected in the third B – Being Christ in the World – of our Adult Discipleship Plan.  We hope you will join in the coming weeks as we look at how we can manage our financial resources and truly experience that God is “Enough.”

If you have any questions on how to access the class on Zoom, or any other questions, please contact Pastor Melissa or any members of the Adult Discipleship Ministry (Dar Davis, Bruce Bartolain, Donell Ries, Thom Hostetter or Joana Arthur).
