Stewardship—A Joyful Response to God’s Abundant Grace
At Franconia United Methodist Church, stewardship is a sacred calling—a joyful response to God’s abundant grace and Christ’s calling to be loving disciples using our God-given gifts to serve our community. It’s how we care for and actively share the gifts we’ve been entrusted with: our time, talents, and treasures. Stewardship is love in action—nurturing our church, delivering mission-minded service to our community and the world, and planting seeds of hope for generations to come. Stewardship is intentional – placing personal and financial priority on supporting the church and cultivating the attributes of Christ in our lives.
Franconia UMC has approved a year-round stewardship plan to help us live more fully into this calling. At Franconia United Methodist Church, we are embracing a new chapter in our life together: a year-round stewardship plan that will guide us in practicing generosity as a daily rhythm of discipleship. This plan is rooted in our conviction that stewardship is not a once-a-year campaign, but an ongoing way of living our faith—clothing ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, patience, and above all, love (Colossians 3:12–17).
By adopting this plan, Franconia UMC is committing to live stewardship as a spiritual discipline and joyful response. Together, we will nurture our church, serve our community, and plant seeds of hope for generations to come.

Yearly Commitment to Giving
Generosity does not happen by accident but requires planning and prayer. This is an important decision to make each year, and one that is an expression of our faith and commitment to Christ and a way of furthering the mission and vision of our church.
All who call this church their home are asked to return an Estimate of Giving card for the coming year. There are two reasons we ask each member to fill out and return these cards:
- Returning the Estimate of Giving card allows the church to accurately plan for our ministries for the coming year.
- The act of filling out a card is a way of inviting each member to prayerfully set a goal for giving.
The Estimate of Giving Card is now available. Instructions for use:
- Please download, complete and save or print (with changes) the Estimate of Giving Form. (update link and change to Estimate of Giving)
- You may bring the completed form to church or mail it to Franconia UMC, Attention Finance Secretary, 6037 Franconia Rd., Alexandria, VA 22310. Or you may email it to the Franconia UMC finance secretary at gro.cmuainocnarf@ecnanif
- Please keep in mind that these cards can be used throughout the year; we simply focus on the upcoming year’s budget during the last quarter of the current year.
