Phoenix Rising Meal Ministry

Phoenix Rising Meal Ministry

Vikki, John and Pam help a girl scout from one of our community troops deliver meals and GS cookies!

Franconia UMC serves with four other churches to ensure delivery of bagged meals each Friday of the month, to help those with food insecurity to have a source of sustenance over the weekend. Our group at  FUMC delivers on the fourth Friday. We usually prepare the bagged meals on the Thursday before the fourth Friday (which may or may not be the 4th Thursday, so always consult our church calendar). We meet in Cokesbury Hall and kitchen at 6:30pm, to make sandwiches and place two meals’ worth of food items into brown paper bags for individual delivery.

For more information contact the church office at gro.CMUainocnarF@eciffohcruhc  All ages are welcome to help prepare the meals and to deliver them. This is ideal for scout troops and other community service possibilities for local teens.
