CHRISTIAN BELIEVER

Believer assumes that most church folk---though faithful followers of Jesus they intend to be---know little of the content of the central teachings of the Christian faith and its ties to Scripture. But they want to know. The goal of BELIEVER is to make available to people the substance of the Christian faith that the church has confessed as a way of connecting to God and living faithfully. This thirty- week study of the classical doctrines of the Christian faith aims at presenting, explaining, and interpreting Christian doctrine as the basic teaching of the church to the end that informed believing leads to committed discipleship.

EXPERIENCING GOD: KNOWING AND DOING THE WILL OF GOD

This 12-15 week study of the Bible will lead you to learn how to know God better, how to know when God is speaking, and how to adjust your life and ministry to God’s revelation of His will. The daily study and the weekly small-group sessions will help you develop a confident, personal relationship with God through which He reveals Himself and His will.

THE DISCIPLE PROGRAM is a program of four, 34-week disciplined Bible studies aimed at developing strong Christian leaders.

DISCIPLE I – BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY:

A journey through the biblical story from Genesis to Revelation. Completion of this study is a prerequisite to all other studies in the Disciple program. Graduates of this study are eligible to study any of the three subsequent studies.

DISCIPLE II – INTO THE WORD INTO THE WORLD:

This study concentrates on four books: Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts, and builds on biblical knowledge gained through the overview of the whole Bible in Disciple I. Emphasis shifts from the broad view to the deeper, more detailed view.

DISCIPLE III – REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE:

This study concentrates on the Old Testament prophets ( except for Daniel ) and the letters of Paul. The prophets and Paul are continually calling their hearers and readers back to their God and to a sense of who they are as a “set apart” people.

DISCIPLE IV – UNDER THE TREE OF LIFE:

This fourth phase of DISCIPLE concentrates on the Writings in the Old Testament – Ruth, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and Daniel. New Testament Scriptures include the Gospel of John; 1,2,3 John; Jude; and Revelation.

JESUS IN THE GOSPELS:

The subject matter of the Gospels is Jesus, not just the man himself but also the meaning of a whole event whose center is Jesus. This 36-week study differs somewhat from the four phases of DISCIPLE Bible study, for it looks more closely at the Gospel texts, and looks at Jesus IN the Gospels, which requires attention to details.
